Mr Lee McConaghie, Headteacher

Welcome

Ashton on Mersey School is one of the most popular and oversubscribed schools in the region with a reputation for aspiration, endeavour and excellence. As Headteacher, I am proud to lead a team of teachers and support staff who truly believe that every pupil should achieve or exceed their potential. The school has an established and embedded ethos of setting high academic standards by carefully crafting a pupil-centered approach where individual needs are matched with a broad, ambitious and exciting curriculum. In addition, the school is passionate about providing rich and diverse opportunities in an environment designed to nurture lifelong learners and citizens who can thrive regionally, nationally and globally.

At Ashton on Mersey we are unwavering in our commitment to opening up a future of choice for our young people. This can be seen in every aspect of our work as we hold true to our motto: Believe Achieve and Succeed. I hope this website gives you a flavour of life at our school.

Admissions for Year 7 places & in-year transfers & appeal applications.

Dear Parent/Carer

Coronavirus (COVID-19 – see advice from NHS on symptoms and things you can do to help stop germs like coronavirus spreading).

With the closure of schools, we envisage a serious delay in the Year 7 Appeals for September 2020 and for any in-year applications for school places.  Please be assured that we will process your application as soon as we can and there is no need to contact us unless there is a change in your circumstances.

We are monitoring government guidance and considering the possible impact of the coronavirus on school appeal related duties.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.
