In the recent Youth Parliament Elections we are proud to announce that two out of the six Trafford candidates were students from Ashton-on-Mersey School.
Natasha Whitham and Sarah Alvi Year 10 students at Ashton-on-Mersey School ran very successful election campaigns and produced excellent video manifestos. Both candidates also presented their manifestos in Hall 1 assemblies with the support of Mrs Mottram.
The voting procedures at Ashton-on-Mersey School were conducted via the school’s virtual learning environment, Moodle. Across the school 658 votes were cast by students. Both the school candidates were successful with Natasha Whitham receiving 1st place with 315 votes and Sarah Alvi receiving 2nd place with 220 votes.
Across Trafford 4772 votes were cast and Natasha Whitham was successful in gaining 1st place with a record 1672 votes.
We would like to thank both candidates for their hard work and excellent campaigns and wish Natasha Whitham the best of luck in her new post as Member of Youth Parliament representing Trafford during her year in office.
